Chakra Series #3: Solar Chakra

Updated: Jul 11, 2021

Chakra is Sanskrit (oldest writing language) for “wheel” or “vortex”. Our bodies are comprised by seven major chakras, energy centers, that house the life force that we are. Scientists have measured their existence and found that the electromagnetic emanations can be detected as far as 26 feet from the physical body. Even though chakras are not physical, they are experienced in the physical bodies. An imbalanced chakra will show up in the body as physical, mental or emotional challenges. Chakras may be used as portals to healing, prosperity and happiness.

The third chakra is called the Solar chakra and it is located in the solar plexus area. It is associated with the color yellow.

The Solar chakra governs the digestive system/metabolism, the pancreas, liver and gallbladder, spleen and small intestine.

On the emotional level it rules will-power, identity, inner strength and self-control, anger, joy, confidence and self-worth.

When the Solar chakra is out of balance it manifests as anger and resentment, low self-esteem, stomach issues, gallstones, blood sugar issues, worry and lack of trust. Additionally, as fearful and aggressive.

Some ways to restore the Solar chakra are:

Spending time outdoors and getting some sun safely, physical movement, power pose, gardening, and having lists completed. Setting intentions, choices and making decisions.

Some essential oils are bergamot, lemon, juniper, and peppermint.

Some crystals that are empowering are citrine, honey calcite, malachite, and granite.

Foods that are grown 2-6 ft above the ground, grains, legumes, and yellow foods.

Wearing yellow clothing as a color therapy.

Affirmation: I have the power to choose all the best in life.

This is just a brief introduction to the seven major chakras and there is so much more in understanding and healing ourselves through the chakras. Contacting a Holistic Health Practitioner and using Energy healing are powerful and effective ways in healing our body, mind and spirit.
