Chakra is Sanskrit (oldest writing language) for “wheel” or “vortex”. Our bodies are comprised by seven major chakras, energy centers, that house the life force that we are. Scientists have measured their existence and found that the electromagnetic emanations can be detected as far as 26 feet from the physical body. Even though chakras are not physical, they are experienced in the physical bodies. An imbalanced chakra will show up in the body as physical, mental or emotional challenges. Chakras may be used as portals to healing, prosperity and happiness.
The sixth chakra is called the 3rd Eye or Brow chakra and it is located between the eyebrows. The color associated with the 3rd Eye chakra is the indigo.
The 3rd Eye chakra governs the brain, nervous system, and pineal gland (pituitary).
On the emotional level the 3rd Eye chakra rules intuition, intellect, imagination, wisdom and knowledge.
When the 3rd Eye is out of balance it manifests as brain issues, headaches, stress, vision problems, neurological disturbances and sleep issues. Additionally, as poor memory and difficulty concentrating.
Some ways to balance the 3rd Eye are:
Visualization exercises, daydreaming, guided meditations, and focusing on an object.
Some essential oils are lavender, sandalwood and frankincense.
Some crystals are fluorite, amethyst, and sugilite.
Eating purple color foods, grapes, and celery.
Wearing indigo color clothing for color therapy.
Affirmation: I am relaxed in knowing my true self.
This is just a brief introduction to the seven major chakras and there is so much more in understanding and healing ourselves through the chakras. Contacting a Holistic Health Practitioner and using Energy healing are powerful and effective ways in healing our body, mind and spirit.
