Chakra Series #2: Sacral Chakra

Updated: Jul 11, 2021

Chakra is Sanskrit (oldest writing language) for “wheel” or “vortex”. Our bodies are comprised by seven major chakras, energy centers, that house the life force that we are. Scientists have measured their existence and found that the electromagnetic emanations can be detected as far as 26 feet from the physical body. Even though chakras are not physical, they are experienced in the physical bodies. An imbalanced chakra will show up in the body as physical, mental or emotional challenges. Chakras may be used as portals to healing, prosperity and happiness.

The second chakra is called the Sacral chakra and it is located in the sacrum area (pelvis). It is associated with the color orange.

The Sacral chakra governs the organs of the lower abdomen, assimilation and elimination, kidneys, sciatica, ovaries and prostate.

On the emotional level the Sacral chakra rules sexuality, family relationships, creativity, emotions, abundance and pleasure.

When the Sacral chakra is out of balance it manifests as addictions, guilt, intimacy issues, low back pain, male and female issues, irritable bowel disease and colitis. Additionally, as poor boundaries and lack of social skills.

Some ways to heal Sacral chakra imbalances are:

Taking baths and immersing yourself in water, self-nurturing activities such as massage, spending time under the moonlight, dancing and Emotional Freedom Technique (E.F.T.).

Essentials oils such as eucalyptus, sweet orange, sandalwood and amber.

Some crystals that are beneficial are tiger’s eye, cornelian, amber, and sunstone.

Eating foods that are grown at ground level and up to 2 ft., green vegetables, melons, squash, orange foods and drinks.

Wearing orange colored clothes as color therapy.

Affirmation: I deserve to experience pleasure.

This is just a brief introduction to the seven major chakras and there is so much more in understanding and healing ourselves through the chakras. Contacting a Holistic Health Practitioner and using Energy healing are powerful and effective ways in healing our body, mind and spirit.
