1. Meditation
Meditation has been the way to a happy life for thousands of years. It helps reduce stress, gain clarity, improve performance, sleep, weight issues, and so much more. Studies have shown that daily meditation increases the frontal lobe where compassion resides and shrinking the limbic brain where fears reside. There are countless ways to meditate, some forms are sitting and observing the mind, walking meditations, breathing exercises, guided visualizations, etc. Essential oils such as lavender, frankincense, cedarwood and sandalwood, relaxation music such as spa music, solfeggio frequencies and binaural beats will assist in relaxing and healing.
2. Food
We are what we eat and what we eat eats! Food carries information sending messages to the body and the mind. So, it is important to choose foods that are organic and non-gmo. Pesticides, herbicides and other synthetic chemicals have shown to disrupt our endocrine system leading to weight gain, mood disturbances, stress, anxiety and sleep issues. We also need to stay hydrated with pure spring water, coconut water, and lemon or lime water. Juicing is excellent for easy to absorb nutrients and minerals. Adding fruit, more vegetables, and fresh greens that alkaline and help the body in its healing process. Avoiding fried foods, highly processed foods, refine sugar and flour, and eating close to bedtime are some ways to avoid stressing the body and mind.
3. Movement
Physical movement is very important for releasing toxins and boosting the immunity. The lymphatic system that cleanses the blood depends on movement. Exercise promotes the release of happy hormones such as endorphins and oxytocin which boost the immune system. Swimming, bicycling, walking, yoga and dancing are some examples. Exercise leaves the body in a relaxed state and feeling safe while reducing the release of the stress hormone cortisol. Energy Work and Spiritual Work will help remove emotional and energetic blocks from the body and mind that may be causing stress.
4. Environment
Our immediate environment plays a big role in our state of mind. Is there clutter around you? Clutter may cause feelings of overwhelmed, ‘suffocation’, or powerlessness. It is recommended to have an easy flow of energy and surround yourself with objects and pictures that spark joy. Placing crystals around the house, such as amethyst and crystal quartz, help clear the energy, shungite and fluorite help with EMFs. Keep TVs and other electronic devices away from the bedroom so you can achieve a good night sleep.
5. Mindfulness
Being aware of our inner state will bring light to the causes of stress and anxiety which are different for everybody. Listening to the body and providing the ‘aid’ that it needs whether it will be food, rest, and/or exercise. Listening to the mind for the subtle messages that are warnings of what to stay clear of and move towards what will give us joy. Trusting our intuition and respecting our boundaries is empowering. Reading self-help and spiritual books, self-hypnosis, and journaling will enhance your sense of peace. Working with a Holistic Health Practitioner will amplify your efforts and results by releasing any energy blocks that may cause stress.
