Addictions provide a quick relief for symptoms to a cause that we are not ready to face. Feeling our emotions and connecting with our real self is scary to many people and they do not know how to handle it. Ignorance of our true nature and blinded by negative beliefs have diminished our light and created fear in us. Our actions are fear based instead out of love and trust towards ourselves and others. Believing in benevolent universe.
Addictions may have serious consequences on the person, the people around them and on society. ‘Hard’ addictions such as drugs and alcohol are more dangerous because they impair our judgment and motor skills immediately. But ‘soft’ addictions or ‘harmless habits’ are equally dangerous in the long run. They ruin families, people lose their jobs, and can lead to serious health consequences. Most people’s excuse is that because of stress they need an outlet and something to make them forget for a while. An ‘outlet’ to stress is great if it is life enhancing such as gardening, music, arts but if stuffing your emotions with food, games, and shopping by suppressing them deeper down, it will lead to self-destruction.
If people realized that our thoughts create our realities, I believe they would start imagining a better life for themselves. Realizing that the root of the problem does not just go away because we are distracted by something else, is a step towards freedom. The symptoms are calling for our full attention NOW. The unknown can be scary but the truth is freedom. Seeking to understand and seeing the blessing in every moment. Self-acceptance leads to self-love and harmony. Using Energy Medicine as a support tool is beneficial to achieve goals and stay on the path.
Education needs to include spiritual studies, so we can answer existential questions, contemplation on issues about co-existence and the universe. We need to cultivate awareness about ourselves and listen to our intuition for direction. We are all connected and interconnected and when someone is lost and not feeling well, it affects the whole. Prayer and meditation are valuable practices for releasing stress, emotions, and changing habits. Joining an anonymous group for support and for a sense of belonging will heal the false sense of separation. Having a Spiritual practice and doing Energy work. Contacting a Holistic Health Practitioner will help with some modalities such as, Hypnosis, NLP, and Theta Healing and many more.
